What a pleasure it was to be contacted recently by The Honeypot Children's Charity to ask if I was available to photograph their first Scottish young carers respite break at their new house in Ayrshire. As an Ayrshire based photographer myself I of course made myself available. It's really important to me to support local communities where I can and so I was also happy to be able to offer my time and services for free as way of a donation to this wonderful charity.
Honeypot Children's Charity's mission is to "build brighter futures for young carers, and create happy childhood memories that they can cherish for a lifetime" as part of this, they offer respite breaks to young carers. I witnessed first hand just how important this is for these selfless young kids
Honeypot have recently opened a new house in East Ayrshire, a converted school, Dalleagles. A beautiful building with lots of bedrooms and communal space for the kids to come together to play, read, eat or relax
Head over to Honeypot's website to find out more.
