What really happens when you take two small business owners who feel overwhelmed, stuck, second-guessing everything they post on social media…and place them inside a small business mentorship community built on clarity, confidence, and genuine support?
In this week’s episode of Small Business Growth Addicts, I sat down with two lovely members of our incredible small business community Get Seen Get Sales, Elaine and Sarah, for a completely honest conversation about what life actually feels like inside the community.
No scripts. No polished success stories .Just real women telling the truth about running a business on social media in 2025.

Meet Elaine & Sarah: Overwhelmed by Social Media to Confident & Consistent
Before we go into the transformation, here’s a little about the women behind today’s chat.
Elaine is a psychotherapist and holistic practitioner (Mind Heart Balance). Her work blends trauma release, holistic tools, and safe, supportive spaces for healing. She openly admits she never really “used” Instagram before starting her business, unless you count watching cute animal videos, so social media has felt like a steep learning curve.
Sarah is an online travel specialist and mum of two. She’s been to over 40 countries, loves planning trips (even if the rest of us are too tired to open another Google tab) and helps families create stress-free holidays without the overwhelm. She found me during a late-night doomscroll, relatable, right?
Both are already brilliant at what they do. They just didn’t know how to talk about it online.
Why They Joined Get Seen Get Sales: An Online Mentorship Community for Small Business Owners
Like most small business owners, they weren’t short on passion…they were short on clarity.
Elaine was “posting and hoping,” struggling to put into words what she actually offers. Sarah felt overwhelmed, lost in strategy, and tired of guessing what to post.
Neither wanted to chase viral reels or show up in a way that didn’t feel like them.
They wanted:
• direction
• a supportive space
• help with their ideal client
• an actual strategy (not just trends)
• community
So they jumped in, and I'm so glad they did!

What Happened Next: The Real Transformation
1. From Doomscrolling to Confidently Showing Up
Sarah now talks on Stories every day, something she never did before joining. She even enjoys it.
She shares the messy mum moments (like forgetting the wellies) alongside holiday research for her clients… and people connect with her because of it.
2. From “Friend-Zoned Content” to Messaging That Lands
Elaine realised she’d been sharing only nurture content, which meant people didn’t understand what she actually did. With support inside GSGS, she began shaping her message clearly, speaking directly to her ideal client, and creating content that finally resonates.
3. Understanding Their Ideal Client Changed Everything
This came up over and over in the episode.
Both said it was the first time they truly understood who they were talking to, and how to talk to them in a way that actually converts. (If you’ve ever said “I help anyone who needs X,” this episode will speak to your soul.)
4. Community → Confidence
This was the biggest theme of the whole conversation.
They described the group as:
• instantly welcoming
• non-judgmental
• a cheerleader squad
• a family they didn’t know they needed
• a place where the highs, lows, and “I just survived this week” moments all matter
Sometimes all you need is one place where you feel seen. And that alone builds consistency.
5. Tangible Wins
Some of the practical results they shared:
• audience growth
• increased engagement
• consistent content
• collaborations through the group
• clarity on what to post
• creating content faster
• better messaging
• real sales (especially through community-based content)
Nothing overnight. Nothing hypey. Just slow, steady, sustainable growth, the kind that actually lasts.
Why GSGS Feels Different to Other Memberships
Both had tried groups before.
They described them as:
• too big
• too salesy
• noisy
• overwhelming
• impersonal
Get Seen Get Sales felt different because:
• it’s small on purpose
• I know every member and reference their businesses in the weekly guides
• it’s tailored, not generic
• it focuses on long-game strategy, not chasing virals
• confidence grows through community, not pressure
And of course…
“You join for the content hooks…but you stay for the community.”
Their words, not mine!
